Contact lens evaluations are separate from routine eye examinations. Evaluations are not covered by most insurances. During this portion of the exam, the doctor will evaluate the fit of the lens, review cleaning methods and wearing schedules, make recommendations and renew the prescription. Sample lenses and solutions may be given. The fee for this is $75.00.
If a new type of lens is recommended, the fee will be $100.00, which will cover an additional visit.
New Fits
Category I- $125.00
Simple, spherical lenses. Includes fitting, evaluation, teaching insertion, removal and cleaning, sample lenses and solutions, and one follow-up visit.
Category II- $175.00
Lenses that correct astigmatism, RGP lenses, and monovision. Includes fitting, evaluation, teaching insertion, removal and cleaning, sample lenses, solutions, and follow-up visits as needed.
Category III- $200.00
Bifocal fits. Includes fitting, evaluation, teaching insertion, removal and cleaning, sample lenses, solutions and follow-up visits as needed.
Category IV- $250.00
Medically necessary fits, these are often covered by health insurance.
